That Woman

I wanna be that woman who will: Make you smile with the thoughts of your destiny

Shiver inside, the breeze of my ecstasy, Ah, so next to me. So sweet, so sexy, I hear you say yes to me.

I wanna be that woman who will: Empty your dreams into reality, make you come, ever so delicately… to me.

I wanna be that woman who will: follow your lead and not inquire, swallow your need with my desire, cool you with my fire – icy- hot, until you tire.

I wanna be that woman who will: make you call out my name in a whisper not even you can hear. Only to my ear is it clear, but you are near.

I wanna be that woman who will: meet you more than half way, insist you say what you may…to me

I wanna be that woman who will: make you speak without choaking, on words unspoken, and say “You are the woman for whom, I’m chosen”.

Rough Riders Series

So…. let’s talk books.

Somehow I got dragged into the world of the eBook. When I talked to my cousin about this she suggested that I start reading the Rough Riders Series by Lorelei James. Now, I gotta admit when I saw the cover of the first book I thought “oh another cowboy story”. Well, honey let me tell you, these aren’t your average run of the mill cowboys. I’ve been reading about these cowboys for a few weeks now and I’m finding that I fall deeper and deeper in love with each one.  There were even a few female characters I changed lives with in my head.

Here’s my advice, looking for a damn good read check out the Rough Riders Series by Lorelei James. Also…here’s a bit of advice my favorite cousin shared “READ THEM IN ORDER”

Life

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn’t supposed to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it’s harder every time. You’ll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You’ll fight with your best friend. You’ll blame a new love for things an old one did. You’ll cry because time is passing too fast, and you’ll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you’ve never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you’ll never get back.

Don’t be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Inspiration

I have, for as long as I can remember, always Ben obsessed with the written word. A couple of my favorite poets are Langston Hughes and, ofcourse, Dr. Maya Angelou.  Over time they have both inspired me in their own ways and in any ways their works boldly express how I felt in ways I couldn’t.  One of my favorite Maya Angelou poems is…

Still I Rise
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Negro Speaks of Rivers

One of my favorite poets is Langston Hughes.  Since I don’t have a whole lot to say tonight, I figured I share one with you guys.  Enjoy.

Negro Speaks of Rivers
I’ve known rivers:
I’ve known rivers ancient as the world and older than the
flow of human blood in human veins

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans, and I’ve seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset

I’ve known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

Can You?

Can you love me
The way I need to be loved
From my head to my toes
Unconditionally

With mental kisses of knowledge
Here and there
Embrace me with your strength
Of your heart and the kindness of your hands

Tickle my thoughts with chocolate tasting
Forget-me-nots
Talk to me with a smile and a sensual stare

Bathe me with songs from way back
Among candles and incense

I say again,
Can you love me the way I need to be loved

When A Girl…

When a GIRL is quiet …
millions of things are running in her mind.

When a GIRL is not arguing …
she is thinking deeply.

When a GIRL looks at u with eyes full of questions …
she is wondering how long you will be around.

When a GIRL answers ‘ I’m fine ‘ after a few seconds …
she is not at all fine.

When a GIRL stares at you she is wondering why you are lying.

When a GIRL lays on your chest ..
she is wishing for you to be hers forever.

When a GIRL wants to see you everyday…
she wants to be pampered.

When a GIRL says ‘ I love you ‘ ..
she means it.

When a GIRL says ‘ I miss you ‘ ….
no one in this world can miss you more than that.

Life only comes around once make sure u spend it with the right person ….

Find a guy…

who calls you beautiful instead of hot.
who calls you back when you hang up on him.
who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.
Wait for the guy who …..
kisses your forehead.
Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats.
Who holds your hand in front of his friends.
Who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you.
Who turns to his friends and says, ‘ That’s her!! ‘

WHY??

Why would someone who’s usually so smart
Let someone take over and control her heart

Why would she allow the pain he inflicts
Upon her, which causes such stressful conflicts

Why would she keep being mistreated and abused
When inside she feels dirty and used

Why would she continue to be so forgiven
When he’s altered the way she goes on living

Why would the repeat same stupid mistakes
When with every action, her pride he takes

Why does she seem to take it in stride
but continue to struggle with turmoil inside

Why won’t she get the help she needs
And put an end to his obsessive greed

the answer lies within the guilt in her heart
The guilt that’s slowly tearing her apart

she knows that often she has done wrong
She should have said “No” rather than going along

She feels she has no right to complain
So, she’ll continue to live with the grief and pain.

I Am

Often they have said,
I don’t know who I am
I am woman
I am pleasure,
I am pain
I am woman

I am serenity,
I am strain
I am woman

I am agression,
I am submission
I am woman
I am anger,
I am love
I know who I am

I am sorry after a fight,
I am darkness in the light
I am liquid,
I am mass
I am bosom,
I am ass
I am satisfaction,
I am frustration
I am mommy,
I am lover
I am alone and I am grown

I am yours,
I am mine
I am distant passing time
I am success,
I am fame
I am sincere, not your game
I am your future unfold, a story untold.

Beauty Unleashed….

Every woman yearns to be beautiful both inside and out and yet we can’t seem to find the magic formula. Despite the unparalleled opportunities for freedom, happiness and fulfillment available to women, many continue to stay mired in depression, anger and hopelessness. To protect our heart, we have learned to lock away our natural God-given beauty by pretending to be the person the world would approve of. God created us in His image, and the essence of God is beauty; therefore, you and I are beautiful. It is already there; we just need to allow the touch of God to reveal it to us and unleash it.
